The statistics website Statista lists the ten highest hotels around the globe - up to 630 metres in the air! We show them to you.
1. the J Hotel in the Shanghai Tower
This giant recently topped the list of the world's tallest hotels: the J Hotel is located in the 632-metre Shanghai Tower - the second tallest building in the world. The tallest skyscraper, by the way, is the 828-metre Burj Khalifa in Dubai - in case you'd like to pay it a visit.

You have to climb 128 floors to reach the J Hotel. There you can choose from 165 rooms and 34 suites, as far as your wallet allows. The impressive view doesn't come cheap: according to the hotel's website, you have to budget at least 4180 euros for one night. But then you should also visit the restaurant with panoramic view on the 120th floor - from there you have the best view over the Pudong district in Shanghai.
2 JW Marriott Marquis Hotel, Dubai
For a long time, the JW Marriott Matquis Hotel in Dubai was at the top of the list of tallest hotels at 355 metres - the first of the two towers opened in 2012 and quickly established itself as a popular five-star hotel with a modern design. Especially business people passing through or couples regularly check in there.

The two towers offer 1608 rooms, plus with 14 different restaurants you have plenty of choice where to have your dinner. A wellness area and a whole 8000 square metres of event space are also impressive. The absolute highlight, however, is the outdoor pool, from which you can take in the spectacular view of Dubai's imposing skyscrapers while swimming.
3 Park Hyatt Shanghai
At first glance, the Park Hyatt Shanghai causes a little confusion: it is located in the 492-metre-high Shanghai World Financial Centre and would therefore actually be the second highest hotel in the world.
But the hotel itself is only on the 79th to 93rd floors of the gigantic building. Nevertheless, it offers its guests spectacular views, for example of the Huangpu River and the Pudong district. In addition, right next door is the Shanghai Tower with what is now the world's tallest hotel: the J Hotel.
In the Shanghai World Financial Center on the Huangpu River you will find the Park Hyatt.

The Park Hyatt offers a total of 179 rooms, a pool to relax in and a fitness room to help you climb the daily stairs - alternatively, there is of course a lift.

4th Rose Rayhann by Rotana, Dubai
The Rose Rayhann by Rotana in Dubai rises 333 metres into the air. There you will find 462 suites and rooms on 72 floors, which are modern but rather simply furnished. You'll feel like you're floating above the clouds when you visit the roof terrace with pool, where you can enjoy the great view.

The four-star hotel is a regular meeting place for business people who can use one of the seven meeting rooms, but of course also for private individuals who just want to have a relaxed holiday.
5th Ritz Carlton, Hong Kong
Drinking a cocktail at a height of 490 metres? That's possible at the Ritz Carlton in Hong Kong. The hotel's bar is located at the very top of the International Commerce Center, although the hotel itself only occupies the top 17 floors of the building.

There you can choose between 312 rooms and several restaurants. The best way to enjoy the view of the Special Administrative Region is from the Sky 100 observation deck.
6 The Baiyoke Sky Hotel in Thailand
In Thailand, you will find the Baiyoke Sky Hotel at an altitude of 309 metres. The clear advantage of this hotel is that it is a lot cheaper than its larger competitors. On the other hand, it is not quite as luxuriously equipped. Nevertheless, it is worth a trip - not least because of the viewing platform on the 84th floor. From there you have a unique panoramic view of the Phatum Wan district in Bangkok.

There are a total of 88 floors here. On the 81st floor is the country's highest open-air restaurant, which also gives you a beautiful view of the city.
7 Four Seasons Hotel Guangzhou, China
The Four Seasons Hotel Guangzhou is located in the Chinese city of Guangzhouin the International Finance Center, which rises 438.6 metres into the air -but only on the 74th to 98th floors. The building has a total of 103 floors. The view from the fish restaurant on the 100th floor is particularly impressive. There is a skylobby with a visitor viewing platform.

There are 374 rooms to choose from - a special highlight are the curved floor-to-ceiling windows that offer you a particularly beautiful view over Guangzhou. In addition to restaurants and fitness centres, there is a specially equipped helipad on the roof of the hotel, in case the climb is too high for you.
8. 85 Sky Tower Hotel, Taiwan
In Taiwan, near the New Bay Area in Kaohsiung, the 85 Sky Tower Hotel towers with its 700 rooms. The entire building measures an impressive 250 metres and rises 85 storeys into the sky.
